Samba should be up at startup, and it is. When I boot my box it says everything is done with SMB services. But when I use ps xa I see there is no smbd running, port 139 is closed. I try to restart it, with no success. I have had a look at samba.log.smb in /var/log and when it try to open the socket it says: bind succeded on port 139 bind failed on port 139 socket_addr=0.0.0.0 (address already in use) Closing connections Server exit (caught signal) This always happens when I try to start the smbd. What is the problem, and how do I fix it? My samba server is 2.0.5, and I am running suse 6.2- Tazio -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq
