should /var/lock/LCK..modem & /var/run/pppx.pid have the same process #

in trying to figure out my problem i donloaded gkrellm and noticed that ppp0
never dies after i disconect and the counter for online time keeps
increasing... read file counter coms from /var/run/pppx.pid [timestamp] so the
real problem is when i disconect from wvdial this file is never removed, but
when i manually remove it the problem continues
