This is done in /etc/permissions* files, best in permissions.local. check the syntax in permissions. something like: /bin/mount root.root 4766 Juergen PS: this is related to the "securety=..." setting in rc.config
Thanks Purple Shirt,
create groups 'floppy' and 'cdrom'
chown /floppy and /cdrom to these groups
I did this bit and nothing changed!
suid /bin/mount as well
I did this bit and it worked, I even used this without making the groups. Question using suid in this way does this make system unsecure as reading in security matters should not use suid wherever possible.
Then make your users belong to those groups.
Did not have to as I just used suid on mount and umount.
SuSE could create automatically groups 'floppy, cdrom, dvd, zip, zipdos' then create directories /zip,/zipdos,/dvd' chown those to those groups.
Does not compute?
