Maybe we could put an "[OT]" tag in the subject line of all "off topic"
related discussion (that is nothing directly related to SuSE Linux techinal
questions).  That way if someone is downloading off a 9600bps modem they can
use promail to filter out all the "junk" by sending anything with "[OT]" in
the subject line to /dev/null ??

This would have to work on the "honor system / consideration for other"
thing though and people would have to determine on a case by case basic of
what Off Topic was and if there post was guility of it.

People could discuss some more indepth issuses and people that just wanted
the "hard core facts" could filter out the other people's "noise"
