Hello all, My friend has a Creative Labs Modem Blaster V.90 ISA PNP modem and we're trying to get it to work. He isn't using SuSE (I do, of course -- he's currently using Mandrake), but I thought someone here might have had experience with this particular modem. It is an ISA modem without jumpers. The SuSE hardware database mentions that it is a winmodem (I think -- it's in German) but mentions nothing else and says that support in Linux is "unknown". I didn't think that there was such a thing as an ISA winmodem, does anyone know if this is true in general and specifically with respect to this modem? I have used pnpdump and it correctly identifies the modem (Creative Labs Modem Blaster,...) and everything looks fine. I have edited /etc/isapnp.conf to use what I think is the proper settings (IRQ 3 etc., though I actually tried all the possible settings) and have the modem set to /dev/ttyS1 (there are no other ISA cards and the mouse is set to /dev/ttyS0 and works). The error that comes up is something like "Can't connect to modem" which is interesting because all the other /dev/ttySx settings say "Modem is busy ...". Anyway, I'm not necessarily looking for advice on how to configure this modem (since it's a Mandrake box) but only if anyone knows anything about this modem. A side note, I have the internal Creative Labs Modem Blaster 2 with jumpers and it works flawlessly in my SuSE box.
