create groups 'floppy' and 'cdrom' chown /floppy and /cdrom to these groups uid /bin/mount as well Then make your users belong to those groups. SuSE could create automatically groups 'floppy, cdrom, dvd, zip, zipdos' then create directories /zip,/zipdos,/dvd' chown those to those groups. mk

To: suse-linux-e@suse.com Subject: [SLE] mount: only superuser can mount Date: Tue, 15 Aug 2000 08:21:29 +0800 This message is appearing since upgrading kernel to 2.2.16, I thought it was fstab, but it is same as before upgrade. It happens with any user except root of course, is it simple to rectify or do I need to provide more info.
I have modified fstab to users from user no change and given users in group administration permissions for each user in group users.
Thanks in advance
