Original message was: Hi Kállai, Is it this your card the "EtherPower II 9432 10/100" as known to SuSE CDB??, if it does, as is evident then it is really supported, can see: "SuSE/CDB Results of your query" at: http://cdb.suse.de/cgi-bin/scdb?ID=96600628535&HTML=ENGLISH%2Fcdb_listte... tes%2Fshow_a.htm&INDEX=4175 or in the URL appears wrapped as maybe would, then you could try: "SuSE/CDB Main menu" at: http://cdb.suse.de/cgi-bin/scdb?HTML=ENGLISH/cdb_listtemplates/menu.htm&... =ENGLISH checking [Network adapter] and [Manufacturer] = "SMC", this will lead you the CDB's on SMC list, and you can see card ref on first position, click it. So it is supported, and then what the heck?? Seems to me that what i will do next is to swap net cables between machines, assuring that it is not a cable glitch. Sometimes green led on HUB appears red but cable is partly wrong, i do not know if this is your case. Or maybe a card problem, they are not unusual. Must also test card with it's original driver dskts, if you got them. This is the first thing that i always do. May well be that you need some form of _windoze_ to test it. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Windows 98, NT and 2000 working with it (I have another rack-HDD to try it) Yes, my card is a SMC 9432 BTX Combo card, used via UTP port. I tried to change the cables, or use a cross link patch cable between to PCs (ignoring HUB's possible errors), it does not works. I think it MUST be some configuration problem. I had got a large amount of mails saying to set this one or that one. This is why I posted to the list the echo of ifconfig, /etc/route and so on. After I checked them, I got: now, if I ping anyone (except me) the Linux has no answer... I wait 10 minutes, no answer. After I press CTRL-C, I got back the cursor. If i try to telnet anyone except me, I got: There is no route connection to that host - or something like this one. I am waiting for any other ideas :) Gabor -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq
