OK, I am trying to get the VNC server running on my SuSE 6.4 (2.2.16) box. I downloaded the latest VNC from their website and followed their directions for running it. I execute the following command: Cd to directory hosting VNC ./vncserver (I have also tried executing the Xvnc and I have already established a password). After executing the above command, SuSE tells me "New X desktop is madness:1 (where madness is the host name). Now, I try to connect from a windows based machine using the vnc viewer and I always get the could not connect (ad-lib) error.. Anyone tell me what I am doing wrong here? I have tried to connect to the vnc server by both IP and host name. Thanks for any input!!!
