My wife needs Shockwave for her home business. But version 4 of the Linux Shockwave/Flash player keeps crashing Netscape 4.72. What might be wrong? I go to a site such as www.flash.com, click on the link to say I know I have Shockwave installed. Netscape starts to download everything, and then crashes. The window won't redraw, menus don't work, etc... I have to kill the process to shut it down. The lockup happened pretty quick, almost as soon as Netscape started downloading the page. I experimented and turned off Java and Java Script. Netscape got about 55% downloading the page before it locked up. These files are in /opt/netscape/plugins: -rw-r--r-- 1 root root 2363 Aug 9 1999 ShockwaveFlash.class -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 765852 Aug 27 1999 libflashplayer.so* The Help->About-Plugins screen of Netscape shows Flash and Shockwave as installed and ready. Running SuSE 6.4 with jre_old (the old Java package). Java itself seems okay. I use other programs that rely on it. -- Robert Wohlfarth rjwohlfar@bigfoot.com "My theory's right.
