<STRONG>attached mail follows:</STRONG><HR> Files with complex HTML tags or Java applets seemed to be hard for StarOffice 5.1 to cope with on my box, I've experienced several such crashes ending up at the login panel. I didn't find any solution but I re-installed SO without any Java at all for a try.
