Rafael,

Just a thought I'm running SuSE 6.3 with StarOffice 5.2 without any
major problems. I have noticed 5.2 is a bit slower to start than 5.1 but
appears to be a bit more stable. Most crashes I have had, have been 
caused by complex Excel spreadsheets or Word Documents not importing
properly. I dont think I have had a problem with SO 5.2 since I installed it.

It may be worth a trying SuSE 6.3 with SO 5.2..
