And a nightmare for the beginner, who is totally confused by the sheer

What makes you think so? If you still want to have the bells and whistles,
go for the Professional version.

The ftp version will be the same as before, including all the packages
from the full (now Professional) version. We just created a new product
for the newbie, that just comes with an assorted selection of packages -
this is the Personal Edition. The "old" version now simply has a new
name, more manuals and more support.

Then go for the upgrade version, which only consists of the 6 CDs and a
small booklet. I am sure, it will be sold it in the US, too.

Sorry if you think about it like that - but I cannot do anything about
this. IMHO the splitting has some good reasons. Of course it is always a
pain, if things change. I hope I was able to give you some background
about the reasons behind all this.
