Hello All, I would like to thank you for all your input on helping me get this to work. It was obvious that I needed to disable the pnp capabilities of the card and then I had a problem cause the card was not set for full duplex. Thanks alot for everyone's help. ---Andy (System Administrator, Liq, Inc.) Chris Herrnberger wrote:

follow the instructions below again but this time also check to see if full duplex or equivalent is activated

There's an obvious solution with the 3c509s. They're known to have PNP turned on and they do not function under Linux with PNP turned on. You need to go to DOS (either installed or boot disked) then use the second disk for the NIC (you can download from 3com), and run the pnpdsabl.bat. Then reboot back to linux and the NIC should work fine. Keep that in mind whenever you add 3c509s or any other NICs for that matter.
