Have you set up X correctly ? run Sax or xf86setup to setup your graphics card correctly... X will run on smaller amounts of graphics memory (< 1 meg ) Surjit.

Hello,
You have 4meg RAM, correct? That could be the problem. My understanding is that you require something like 32mb or so for X. Not 100% sure but it might be right.
Not quite. 4 MB is sufficient (I have used cards that had 2 MB - also worked). But don't expect to be able to run 1600x1200 @ 80 Hz and zillions of colours ;-)

You can try to change your keyboard's resolution with keyboard shortcuts. I thought it was Ctrl> + and <Ctrl> - (the '+' and '-' on the numerical pad at the right of your keyboard. Might have been <Alt> instead of <Ctrl>.
Second, the taskbar is not there. Linux can find all the parameters so I don't know what is wrong? The monitor is LG 20".
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks a lot.
