hi all, i mangaged to get hold of a WYSE 520ES terminal. it is only a text terminal. I got it to work, but yet there are some things i would want and/or need to know about... one of the problems is that for ex. emacs does does not correctly refreshes lines, and produces "holes" in the text, in docs, that are longer than one screenlength. I tried checking wyse homepage, but they only mentioned the "glossy paper" features of this thing and no manuals were to be found... The Options i need some explanation about are: <the following options can be changed int he DISPLAY tab> Host-writeable status display - ok, i understand, but how do i do this? What exactly are pages? and/or, what is vertical and page coupling General setup tab: note: i found the wy520-48w termdef in etc/termcap and using agetty. so: Do i tell the terminal to be a unic console or something else? the second entry gives me choice between vt400 or WYSE are the optins to get the special keys (the block between alhabet and numpad) workign in there, or am i doing something gravely wrong? keyboard setup tab: do i take typewrieter keys, or Data Processing keys? in the 1st choice? what is character- , or position- , or pc scan mode? ignore compose and ignore ALT also give me no pointers.. is this the place to make the tertimal not wanna interpret the F-x keys? Anyway, if somebody can dig up a text file describing these, i would be very thankful... the bottom line, is that i can make it work fine for shell use, but anything that offers a UI (emacs, pine, yast) and/or needs the function keys, is very problematic... thanks for any help and/or pointers greets, Alex -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq
