I now have a system that is unusable because there is no fstab, no root, no users and no initab. Oh well. Is there anyway to save some of my data?
My stupidity for not paying closer attention, but I thought that SuSE would be able to give better instructions.
You can boot to a rescue system from CD, or floppy and mount your hard disk file system. Once there, you can cd to the /mnt/etc (assuming you mounted it on /mnt) and use vi to create the missing files, assuming you know what needs to go in them. -- Brad Shelton On Line Exchange http://online-isp.com -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/support/faq
