My scsi cd-rom is suddenly on /dev/sr0 instead of scd0 This after using cdroast to burn a cd. Actually have one cd-rom and one cdr. Any ideas what happened and how to fix. Linking /dev/sr0 to /dev/scd0 doesn't appear to work. thx
Hi Jim, I do not think this is to extraordinary... from my /dev dir root@marvin:/dev > ls -l sr* brw-r----- 2 root disk 11, 0 Mar 11 11:11 sr0 brw-r----- 2 root disk 11, 1 Mar 11 11:11 sr1 brw-r----- 2 root disk 11, 10 Mar 11 11:11 sr10 ... and root@marvin:/dev > ls -l scd* brw-r----- 2 root disk 11, 0 Mar 11 11:11 scd0 brw-r----- 2 root disk 11, 1 Mar 11 11:11 scd1 brw-r----- 2 root disk 11, 10 Mar 11 11:11 scd10 ... fact is, both use the same major and minor numbers and point to the same (kernel) device. If scd? has vanished, I'd recreate it. Can't see an obvious problem here. Maybe I missed something out.
