The simplest way to accomplish this is to make it an init script. You can use the /sbin/init.d/skeleton file as an example (i.e. the Right way) or you can just make a minimal file (i.e. the Easy way). Following is the Easy way. Stick the command in a file. Minimally, it would look like: -----------------------START FILE-------------------------- #!/bin/sh ipchains -A forward -j MASQ -s 192.168.32.0/24 -d 0.0.0.0/0 ------------------------END FILE--------------------------- Let's say you call the file "ipmasq". Now do the following: mv ipmasq /sbin/init.d/ cd /sbin/init.d/ chmod u+x ipmasq ln -s ipmasq rc2.d/S30ipmasq ln -s ipmasq rc3.d/S30ipmasq Now this file should be executed every time you start up in runlevel 2 (that's multi-user, terminal mode) or 3 (that's multi-user, graphical mode.) Question for SuSE folk or others who might know: Is there anything akin to RedHat's "chkconfig" tool which creates the symlinks in rc?.d for you? -tara On Sat, Jun 17, 2000 at 03:05:45AM +0500, Anurag Jalan wrote:
