And I'd agree with you ;-))) While I don't know the current numbers, I just don't think that your numbers are valid world wide. But as you can guess, I'm rather biased on this topic ;-))
SuSE really needs to do more advertising (like Corel and RedHat do) in the US. I personally think SuSE is easier to install, and much easier to administrate (with good old YaST) than in my experience RedHat is (I used RH 5.1 until I switched to SuSE). If SuSE had an aggressive advertising campaign like RedHat does, I bet it would really help. <kde bias>I mean how can any desktop be easier to use than one that defaults to KDE?
