I missed the original question but if you're trying to get rid of the icons
for trash, floppy, etc, there is (was?, haven't checked in awhile) an entry
at kde.org explaining what files to edit.  It's not as straightforward as it
should be and I seem to remember that it was related to kfm.  Check the faq
and if you can't find it let me know, I've got it printed out somewhere at
home.
