This is a followup of my earlier mail. I've just found out that stock kernels are not supposed to be built with gcc-2.95.2.
Well, I don't know what's official, but I'm running a 2.2.15, compiled with gcc 2.95.2 (from a redhat.rpm AFAIR) with no probs... And 2.4.0-test1 compiled and booted as well...

I believe that the kernels have been patched so that they can be compiled with gcc-2.95.2, but this has not been tested very much. Therefore the kernel maintainers do not know if they will compile correctly.
