Rando, I don't use GNOME, so I'm kinda useless here - by why not switch to KDM and KDE? The K Desktop Environment has the stability that comes with more mature code, the prettier interface that the Troll and KDE teams have done a great job on, more utilities (I think), major support from Corel, Mandrake, and SuSE, and it's the pick environment of Linus Torvalds. KDE 2.0 will also add a full fledged CORBA based office suite, Konqueror (a modern, powerful web browser), and more!

Sorry Tim, but I beg to differ :-) Personally I don't like KDE because it is so resource hungry. Also, it seems to bear a striking resemblence to something I'm trying to forget :-). A lot of the individual apps are really good, but I prefer E (nowadays, anyway.) I used to swear by WindowMaker until I tried the latest version of E. I haven't hadf the chance to look at Sawfish yet (other than some screen-shots) but it sounds like it might be worth the effort. -- Regards Don Hansford ECKYTECH COMPUTING Surfing the Net (without crashing) With SuSE 6.4 Linux (Thanx Linus!)
