Hello! I am planning to buy a new PC for use with SuSE Linux.
Because of low budget I'm interested if it is wise to invest in more MBs of RAM memory (128 instead of 64) and buy Celeron (566MHz) instead of PIII (550MHz)?
I use computer primarily for text processing and database applications.
You can go either way. Personally, I would go with 128MB and the Celeron 566MHz. By the time that you need to upgrade again, the PIII will be at an affordable price.
Is it Celeron 566 powerful enough to run DVD movies with good graphic card?
Once your CPU gets past 500MHz, this question becomes largely irrelevant since you got more processing power than you really need. A 566MHz CPU, 128MB memory, and a 32MB video card is more than enough to run DVD movies smoothly.
