About IDE CDRW units, I tried a lot of them Like Ricoh, HP, Yamaha and
Plextor, everyone of them worked fine... Well you just need a few tricks in the Linux
kernel like:

Remove IDE ATAPI CDROM support
Add SCSI Generic Suppot
Add SCSI CDROM Support
Add SCSI Emulation support

and finally but not less important start burning your CDRoms under Linux ;p

You have to relink /dev/cdrom to your new device, on SuSE it will be
/dev/srX where X is 0/1/2 (you get the picture), and on Red Hat Systems it will be
/dev/scdX (the same crap about X).
