But you're supposed to run a wm with GNOME, right? So how would you do that? I don't have any experience with GNOME (I'm runnig ICEwm with some KDE apps) but I'd like to try it.
That's right. But if you don't define a window manager then Gnome runs with Sawfish (the default Gnome windowmanager).
