No, actually, it doesn't. If anything in autoexec.bat or config.sys puts
messages on the screen, the logo screen disappears and you see the
text.
Which isn't bad: with a well-written script and programs, no news is good news.
The thing with Linux is that some of the messages CANNOT be redirected to
anywhere that they could possibly be recovered, because they occur before ANY
disk is mounted writeable.
