This may not be the most appropriate place to ask this question, but it is the place to start. I have a problem with Java on SuSE 6.3/Sun JDK1.2.2/JSDK 2.0/ JServ 1.1/Apache 1.3.12. There is a bug when trying to use any awt classes without X loaded, apparently it requires xlibs to be loaded first if X is not running, before using any of these classes. I'm told that I can work around this problem by simply loading xlibs.. but how does one do this. How to load xlibs without loading X? So my specific question is.. is there way to load xlibs on SuSE without loading X? Before somene scolds me for wanting to use awt with X, I am not using it for any image rendering/display function, just for measuring graphic file dimensions... very trival but sheesh load up all of X just for this! Thanx for any guidence.
