M$ nooo way . W2K noooooo , win98 was the end of the line here. I'm still
POed about the multiple versions of win95 and win98 that force you into
upgrading the current version of win 95/98 to hte newer release of win95/98
for one needed feature that was ONLY put in the second release of the
product and not made avialable to all those that have the foist release
forcing you to pay agien for the second release of the same software.
That is a rip off. I needed fat 32 and was forced to pay $89.00 for release
2 at retial , even thogh I had release one of the product.
The only way I can fight back is to vote with my $$$$$s , so M$ is off the
list , and we are moving to linux with ALL NEW SYSTEMS while the current
two M$ systems dual boot and are used to suport whats needed on M$ while we
move apps to linux as they come avialable. Right now Im waiting for an
affordable payroll app on linux and need to move a home built accounts
payable to linux as well. Those two apps are still intrenched in linux. the
last payroll module I saw for linux was $495 , while the one I use under M$
is $89.00. If I ever get time I wiill have to try it under wine or
something , but I would pay up to $200 to get it off the MS platform as I
could then completly dump it and keep a stricly linux eviorment. The
accounts payable I could do in paradox with WPO2000 under wine if needed.
