The smtp server you are talking to (192.168.0.2?) is not able to resolve the domain web.de. From my nt workstation I get web.de as 194.45.170.196, and the mx record says: web.de MX preference = 200, mail exchanger = relay.xlink.net web.de MX preference = 100, mail exchanger = mx01.web.de web.de nameserver = ns2.cinetic.de web.de nameserver = xlink1.xlink.net relay.xlink.net internet address = 193.141.40.4 relay.xlink.net internet address = 193.141.40.5 mx01.web.de internet address = 194.45.170.19 mx01.web.de internet address = 194.45.170.12 ns2.cinetic.de internet address = 194.122.194.22 xlink1.xlink.net internet address = 193.141.40.1 Check /etc/resolv.conf and /etc/hosts, use nslookup from the smtp server to verify it knows who web.de is. -- Andrew Diederich andrew@netdelivery.com

Dear Linux users,
is there anybody out on this world who can give me some advices in configurating my sendmail server. I 'd like use Outlook Express to send an email via SMTP to my Linuix Server in my network and this should forward it to my provider via an dial on demand ISDN connection.
Recieve eMails via my Linux POP server in combination with fetchmail is already perfectly running.
The Problem:
every time i try to connect to my SMPT server (sendmail) Outlook says:
Die Nachricht konnte nicht gesendet werden, da der Server die E-Mail-Adresse des Absenders nicht akzeptiert hat. Die E-Mail-Adresse des Absenders ist 'richy19@web.de'. Betreff 'fsdfsd', Konto: 'linux', Server: '192.168.0.2', Protokoll: SMTP, Serverantwort: '451
... Sender domain must resolve', Anschluss: 25, Secure(SSL): Nein, Serverfehler: 451, Fehlernummer: 0x800CCC78 What should I do to fix this problem with lots of eMail adresses on different Domains(YAHOO,WEB.DE, my Provider etc.) and e few users?
Please Help me, i will die byx thinking about this problem.
Thanks to all who can help me
P.S.: Linux is the only OS which runs perfectly and never hang up! Its just the Best!
Best regards
