Kevin Jackson tapped away at the keyboard with:
<rant> Your 'laziness' or 'ignorance' shouldn't compel me to spend thousands to upgrade to a machine; just to access your web page. </rant>
Why have a go at my web pages? I've not even posted a link to them!
The rant was addressed to ALL those cobbling together web pages which are inaccessible because of laziness and/or ignorance. The URL(s) posted demonstrated the 'dead end' seen by many people who visit sites using browser of limited capability for varying reasons. Those reasons include financial capacity, bandwidth constraints, screen size, presentation (ChUI/GUI), impaired vision, etc. It is not uncommon to find that the best modem speed available in most parts of Australia is 2400 bps. And then it's a long-haul, error-prone connection to an ISP. It may only be 5% of the population, but that's a million people.
I'm lazy? I'm ignorant? You obviously don't know me.
You were supporting the notion that I should upgrade my browser because it doesn't do frames just because the author of the web pages was too ignorant/lazy to provide access to the content for those who don't run a frames browser. It was stated that the pages at the referenced URL had been created with DreamWeaver. Using an authoring tool encourages ignorance about accessability, unless it also goes the full mile to produce, or to assist in producing accessible pages with reasonable layour hints based on the same _content_ as the main design environment.
Myself and a friend have worked VERY hard to produce a site that is viewable on all platforms. So don't you dare say I'm lazy or ignorant.
