My SuSE boxes are part of a larger system, and in general we use NIS, and automount home directories. And we want to use automount for floppy and cdrom as well. Using the recipe on the SuSE home- pages work, except for one thing: files (and the directory) of msdos file systems mounted under /misc/{floppy,cdrom} in this way are owned by root, since root is the owner of the autofs process. Fiddling with the mount options in auto.misc, trying with user, suid, and even setuid=<specific uid> (or uid=...) doesn't work, all files are still owned by root. And I hate that solution anyway, since there's no way of predicting who'll sit down and try to use a floppy on a machine. Any ideas what I'm doing wrong?
