Can i configure more than one screen on my monitor using sax?? I ran sax and configured the default screen to 1024x768 with 16 bit plane depth. Now, i boot the m/c, the Linux login screen directly goes to "CTRL+ALT+F7". Can i change the default screen and can i run X on more than one screen. I think we can configure 8 screens with different resolutions and depth in Linux. Is it so?? Previously, we were using SCO 5.0 and we could configure all the 8 different screens with different resolutions with "scoadmin".
I know you can start up multiple X-sessions. For example, I can start a normal X session from console 3 and get the server on console 7. I can then log in on console 5 as well, and enter: startx -- :1 to start another, separate, X session on console 8. I don't know how to get each X session to default to different resolutions and colour depths though, nor do I know (off-hand) how to get X to display on a specific console (for example console 6).
