Hi
Is there a way of getting CRON to download a file from the internet at periodic intervals? I'm doing an A-level IT project where I want a Linux machine to download share prices. This data is held in several files, accessible from a HTTP server.
I am setting up the same Linux machine to be accessible from the school's NT (yuck!) network. Using samba, I've created a new domain for it (named Linux), and although this is visible in Network Neighbourhood, the machine itself isn't visible in the 'Linux' workgroup. How can I change this?
I would be very grateful for any help you could give,
Many Thanks,
Andrew Smith
