If you're using the SuSE-supplied kernel, then sound support is built as modules. You'll have to recompile your kernel (see the SuSE manual about that).
Thanks for the information but I read in the new manual/installation (p. 476) guide that it is no longer necessary to recompile the kernel.
Hm, but didn't the README you mentioned suggest to use built in sound support? If that's correct you have to recompile.
That is what the http://linux.aureal.com README said. Then I read the FAQ in the installation manual of SuSE 6.4 and it said that since kernel 2.2.x that one no longer needs to recompile the kernel for sound support. - Carpe Diem! - Don - http://members.home.net/dongoodwin/ -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
