I follow the instructions of the BTTV Mini-howto for configuring the bttv Module. I didn't recompile the Kernel and neither download the bttv 0.6.X. I saw the package withe my Linux version and I found that it was 0.6.3 version (I think that it's ok!).
The Mini-HOWTO is a pretty good document, but a bit too much work. SuSE has made the entire frame grabber installation process very easy.
So, I started with the linux command insmod videodev (everything was ok). After that, I execute insmod i2c and I found an error message that the module i2c didn't exist. I try to continue the installation, but the modprobe bttv doesn't work.
Well, since you've already done all of that work, I may be sending this too late ;). All you need to do is send `modprobe bttv && modprobe tuner', and all of the necessary modules should load automatically. If bttv fails, you may need to *edit* the lines in /etc/modules.conf. If it's a standard Hauppage card you could try uncommenting the line options bttv line in etc conf/modules and changing tuner to 10 and adding vidmem=0fx=0xf00, ie so it looks like this :

I install kwintv and as you can imagine, it doesn't work.
Doesn't work for me, either. The only application that runs reliably for me is XawTV, and it runs very well.
Could you please help me find "HOW-TO" install the i2c module (if it exists) ?
Again, this is not necessary with a SuSE kernel.
