The install seems successful. At the end of the install, I can successfully log into the KDE desktop and I see icons for my configuration and the mouse works fine.
However, whenever I re-boot using either the boot floppy created during the install or using Boot Magic (Partition Magic), when I get to the login panel, my mouse is useless. If I continue to sign in anyway, the KDE desktop now does not contain any icons from my desktop configuration. At this point, I am lost - I do not know how to navigate using just the keyboard and I end up having to power off/power on.
You don't say what makes your mouse "useless". Do you get a mouse pointer? Does it move in response to the mouse? Does anything happen when you click a button (a menu, or a drag line)? In Yast did you configure gpm? If so, switch it off. I can upset X in some cases. When you get stuck, don't just hit the power button. Hit Ctrl-Alt-F1, log in as root and shutdown neatly (with "shutdown -fr now" (without the quotes)). -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
