I am a beginning Linux user and am having a serious problem after a YaST2 install of SuSE 6.4 My system is a Micron Pentium III at 733 mhz with 128 mb RAM, an Nvidia GeForce video card and Microsoft Intellimouse (USB connected.) Before installing, I partitioned my drive (27 GB) using Partition Magic 5. I have tried installing three times now all with the same result. The install seems successful. At the end of the install, I can successfully log into the KDE desktop and I see icons for my configuration and the mouse works fine. However, whenever I re-boot using either the boot floppy created during the install or using Boot Magic (Partition Magic), when I get to the login panel, my mouse is useless. If I continue to sign in anyway, the KDE desktop now does not contain any icons from my desktop configuration. At this point, I am lost - I do not know how to navigate using just the keyboard and I end up having to power off/power on. Any suggestions will be appreciated. I did contact SuSE tech Support back on Saturday (April 29). They offer 60 day support but apparently a lot of those days will be wasted just waiting for a response from them. I have been trying to read the main SuSE manual for hints as to what is wrong but it's not real friendly to a beginner. I also purchased the book 'Running Linux' but so far I haven't found anything like my situation. ____________________________________________________________________ Get free email and a permanent address at http://www.netaddress.com/?N=1 -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
