I'm running 6.3 on a system with HP9100 CDwriter, Freetech mobo, Athlon 650, ATI XPERT 128. I was unable to boot the install disk from CDROM, so I had to boot from floppy. So I didn't have YaST2 available. In order to get X running I had to download a new ATI driver. For whatever reasons, various minor things didn't get installed correctly, which I ascribe to my inexperience with SuSE and the floppy boot/YaST method. I still have kernel loading issues with the Soundblaster Live!! soundcard, but I haven't worked very hard at it yet. Once booted, I've had no problems reading from the CDROM. If I get 6.4, what are the chances that I can boot the install disk, use YaST2, and get the ATI and Soundblaster working without hassles? If chances are good, then that's easier than figuring out the problems. -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
