1) i have problems with installin' ALSA pac. (sound support) - now i have 20min. license for OSS, but i'd like 2 be able 2 listen music in linux where ever i want, not only in first 20min. :) how can i make it?
Well, for OSS, you can get a full license by going to their site (http://www.opensound.com/) and filling in your credit card details. Or, you can tell us what problems you're having and we could try and help with ALSA.
2) how can i make win partitions could be edited by normal user? i can edit vfat as a root, but not when i'm normaly logged (not as root). i've tried "chmod" as root, but it didn't help (everythng was ok - non errors, but when i've logged as another "normal" user i stil could olny read from vfat.... what 2 do with that?
You should be looking at 'man mount'. In the /etc/fstab file, find the line relating to your vfat partition, and set the following parameters (extract from 'man mount'): uid=value and gid=value Set the owner and group of all files. (Default: the uid and gid of the current process.) umask=value Set the umask (the bitmask of the permissions that are not present). The default is the umask of the current process. The value is given in octal. You might end up with something like the following: /dev/hda6 /files vfat rw,exec,gid=100,umask=007 0 0 Here, I've set the gid (group ID) to 100, which is the 'users' group. Note that I don't need to specify a 'uid=' option here with the 'gid=' option. the 'umask=007' part means that all files on the drive will have permissions -rwxrwx--- i.e. readable and writable for the 'users' group and for the user who mounted the drive (root).
