[SLE] Background noise on soundcard

Just a day or so ago I started noticing a background noise
on my sound card (a Soundblaster PCI128 running under 4Front
OSS). It's a very light buzz that happens whenever I move
the mouse. (That seems to exclude any problem with a loose
connection in the sound system.) Does anyone have a guess
as to what causes I should be looking at? I'm also running
the imwheel driver for the mouse, which is a Logitech
trackball with a wheel.
