Hi Mitja,
<snip>
Does it happen as an other user as well?
Hi,
When I started mc on a clean 6.4 installation, it said: Segmentation fault.
For a cure, I'd try to move .mc to another name and let mc recreate it. Sorry, no good..
Otherwise I'd remove and reinstall the mc package. That didn't help either. I even compiled a new kernel. It just won't start, and I don't know where to start searching for a solution..

-- Considering I started a thread similar to this, I should probably state the solution I settled upon...reinstalling mc and any packages I thought would relate to it (ncurses?). This is using the "R" option in Yast. And it solved my problems!!!
