ok. there is a problem here in that nslookup doesnt know my server ip lookup
however if i try and access the same pages from the server ( which does know the lookup )
I get the error
I think that rman isnt lookup, i cant see it in the process tree (pstree )
I have tried reinstalling the rman package. But i cant see rman being called anywhere
in the startup boot actions ?
where should this be called
does anyone know which rc.d script should be starting rman ?
thanks
dids
on a second note. anyone know which file i need to put
the localhost name ( host.diddyland.top ) to allow
my win9x pcs to know that this is the server
I'll probably figure the last one out, since it used to work.

+AD4- Dids,
+AD4- It could be any number of things.

+AD4- +ACI-I cant seem to see any service running on port 6711+ACI-
+AD4-
+AD4- That's the roseta man port. It is used to provide manpages to
+AD4- the network in
+AD4- many different formats. It's really cool when you get it
+AD4- working. The SuSE
+AD4- book has instructions on how to set up a dochost pp 382-383 in
+AD4- the English 6.4
+AD4- book. The instructions are also on the default web site that is
+AD4- set up when
+AD4- you install the help system.

+AD4- Be sure you have reverse DNS on the domain names you use in the
+AD4- etc/host.allow
+AD4- and etc. If you don't, use ip addresses instead. To test to see
+AD4- if you are
+AD4- getting reverse DNS type +ACI-nslookup hostname.sub.domain+ACI-. There
+AD4- are a lot of
+AD4- moving parts in this system. I don't remember all the details. If this
+AD4- doesn't get you going, give us some feedback and someone on the
+AD4- list is bound
+AD4- to know the answer.
