Was trying to use the dhclient that came with the distro to no avail. pppoed came with the distro as well. IF I can convince the *@& thing to get a DHCP IP from the box I'll be in business. Then again, it seems I can't even convince my linux box dhclient to get an IP off of EITHER my NT DHCP server *OR* the Westel box. Going to try a different dhcp client and see where that leaves me. I *KNOW* both DHCP servers (totally segregated, the Westel device is not plugged into my hub) work, I'm on it in windoze now and pulled an address from both the NT box AND the Westel device under windoze. Going to try dhcpcd next, then check a few other clients out... Unless the roaringpenguin pppoe has a built in DHCP client...??
My setup has no dhcp running - yast client is off, and I'm not running a server. I'm pretty sure it's handled on the pppd side of things... Give that a try.
