Make both boot & modules disks from the /disks dir and choose to load modules at boot - use Yast1 and you should get the option to load more modules from the mods disk. I have an Advansys 960 chipset-based pci board which detected & worked 1st time booting from CD, no parameters needed - have you tried a CD boot?
My problem is that i can not install suse 6.3 because the installation don?t recognise my SCSI card (an Advansys Ultra Wide, where i have a PLEXTOR 40X & a YAMAHA 6416). I have the Spanish version, and in the manual tells that i can use the param: linux advansys=0x123 (My SCSI card have the 0xD400 i/o address) and i use linux advansys=0xD400, but the kernel don?t detects any scsi ports or cards, and when the yast2 program have to read the CD, tells me that i don?t have the CD.
With de 2nd CD (YAST1) i use the drivers options and i select advansys, don?t put anything in the command line, i push enter and the program detects my SCSI card, my YAMAHA, but not detects the Plextor and moreover the prg. hangs (i have to restart the computer).
