Hello, Are you using a smarthost to send your email? some internet-providers (especially cableproviders) block the smtp-port, so that outgoing mail to other mailservers then theirs can't be delivered. That way you are forced to use their smtp-server. It's a problem i ran into when connectnig a mailserver on a cable-network, and the error is pretty much the same. Another DNS matter. I'm forwarding my incoming mail on one box, straight on to another box. This has gone on for about two months, never had any problems, but now, all of a sudden, my syslog of the forwarding box keeps saying this: tat=Deferred: Name server: c18752226.telekabel.chello.nl.: host name lookup failure I don't get this, because when I do a nslookup, the host is found. A ping also gives me no headache. Why does sendmail say this all of a sudden? Please help me, I can't receive mail in a normal manner and I'm desperate! Last change was adding a mail-list in Majordomo. That shouldn't change anything in the lookup would it?
