ping to remote machine really works.

Found the tulip-new.o in /lib/modules/2.2.10/net.

Then Dennis <dsoper@xxxxxxx> furnished the rest of the solution.
I simply edited /etc/conf.modules 'alias eth0 tulip' to 'alias eth0
tulip-new'.
Yes, the file is in the directory as 'conf.modules'.
