Is there a log somewhere that logs all successful and failed login attempts? Is this something I need to turn on? If so, how?
Hi Steve, have a look round "man syslog.conf" There are different "sources" (youre looking for "auth") and (for playing: man logger) that pass different levels (warn, err, ...) to syslog. syslog.conf offers possibilities to write this stuff to either other consoles or different files. Just returned from a course in administrating linux ;-). can't tell much further, I'd have to dig, but I want to get my SuSE 6.4 running now. ;-) Juergen -- =========================================== __ _ Juergen Braukmann juergen.braukmann@gmx.de| -o)/ / (_)__ __ ____ __ Tel: 0201-743648 dk4jb@db0qs.#nrw.deu.eu | /\\ /__/ / _ \/ // /\ \/ / ===========================================_\_v __/_/_//_/\_,_/ /_/\_\ -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
