Obviously people think the SuSE mailing list is the best as other distro users use this more!
That's not true....!!! I don't believe that....!! I have Red Hat 5.2 by the
way :)
Yes but this is a SuSE mailing list, not a general Linux mailing list. SuSE is Not RedHat - they are 2 different distros! http://www.redhat.com/ != http://www.suse.com/ Enough of my moaning... to answer your question... 1. mount your hard new drive to /other 2. move /home and everything in it to /other so you get: /other/home 3. cd / 4. ln -s /other/home home Now when you do: cd /home you will magically get transported to /other/home transparently. Tada. The only problem you will have is permissions. Last time I did this everything reset to root.root! If anyone says otherwise let me know cos I'd like a better solution myself! Actually the solution I have today was install a new 17Gb hard drive, reinstall linux and restore my backups! A lot neater. :op Kev -----Original Message----- From: Vasileios Zografos [mailto:vzograf@hotmail.com] Sent: 06 April 2000 18:13 To: kevin.jackson@jhallpr.demon.co.uk Subject: RE: [SLE] How to add HardDisk to existing system -- To unsubscribe send e-mail to suse-linux-e-unsubscribe@suse.com For additional commands send e-mail to suse-linux-e-help@suse.com Also check the FAQ at http://www.suse.com/Support/Doku/FAQ/
