Just when I thought I had got my parallel ports sorted!!!!!
(I have one standard -lp0 and a dual pci card - lp1/2).
I had need to re-boot and afterwards lp0 stopped working.
After several re-boots and much head scratching, because sometimes 'lp0'
worked and sometimes it didn't, I made a discovery.
What I found was that in '/proc/parport/0/devices' :-
When 'lp0' worked there was just one entry - 'lp'
When 'lp0' didn't work there are three entries 'ppuser01','+ppuser00'
and 'lp'.
This raises three questions.
1 - What are these two entries (ppuser00/01)?
2 - Why do they come and go?
3 - How do I STOP them from appearing?
Regards
