What do you thinkj of Reiserfs when it comes to database handling (e.g. Mysql or Sybase) do you reckon the security improvement will by far over compensate the performance hit or are there any chances of this file system to confuse the Sybase's recovery procedures (hence it would not be , in that particular case, worth the while) Thanks for your thoughts Didier Lenz Grimmer wrote:

Which of course leads us to the question. How much effort is it to convert a system? Is there a FAQ you could point us to?
Sorry, the term "convert" was misleading. Unfortunately you have to reformat the partition with ReiserFS. There is no way of converting ext2 to ReiserFS on the fly yet. This is the nice thing about ext3 :)
